Rebecca Garnett – Exploring how to Engage Patients and Their family/Friends (‘Informal Caregivers’) in Prescription Medication-Related Decisions
18th April 2024 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Becky Garnett is a DPhil researcher at Oxford University, in the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences. She is researching a topic called ‘deprescribing’, defined as the ‘stopping or withdrawing medication that a doctor or clinical pharmacist consider to be no longer appropriate or necessary’.
She has completed a survey project and interview study investigating the attitudes of older adults and their family/friends towards prescription medication and is now conducting a discrete choice experiment to find out what factors are important in people’s decisions relating to their medication.
