TIME AND PLACE
Poetry reading group 2 meets on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month at 10.15 am. Our current venue is the flat of one of our members (in south central Oxford), which limits membership to eight. Founded in November 2024 the group has so far looked at the work of, among others, Bernard Spencer, Wendy Cope, Edward Thomas, Robert Frost, Sylvia Plath, John Clare, Wordsworth’s The Prelude (1805) and the poetry of the second world war. Members take it in turns to lead meetings with introductions which may consist of a few biographical details, or a more extended overview. Texts of poems to be discussed are circulated in advance. Enquiries welcome.
