Dr Ben Grant – Writing and Illness

15th June 2023 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Ben Grant is a lecturer in English Literature in the Department for Continuing Education at the University of Oxford.  He has a research background in postcolonial studies, has published two books and is in the process of writing a third on the work of the contemporary British writer, Jenny Diski. As part of his interest in the recent field of Medical Humanities and Disability Studies, his talk will introduce some of the different ways of thinking about the relationship between writing and illness, and consider the role which writings about illness play in the wider culture.
