Talks take place on Thursday afternoons, starting at 2pm, and usually take place in the Lecture Hall, Rewley House, 1 Wellington Square, Oxford OX1 2JA. These are free for Oxford u3a members but you are welcome to attend as a guest for a donation of £5 (£2 for members of all other U3As).
Most talks are recorded on Zoom for the benefit of those Oxford u3a members who are unable to attend Rewley House.

Lady Aurelia Young – Oscar Nemon: Sculptor of Royalty and Statesmen

Aurelia Young is the daughter of the sculptor, Oscar Nemon (1906–85), who was born to a Jewish family in Croatia (then Yugoslavia) and settled in England in 1938. After the War Oscar made sculptures of many distinguished politicians, heads of state and royalty and is particularly known for his series of more than a dozen public statues of Winston Churchill. Since his death Aurelia has undertaken significant research into all aspects of her father’s life and artistic career and, with Julian Hale, has written his biography, Finding Nemon: The Extraordinary Life of the Outsider Who Sculpted the Famous (2018). https://www.peterowen.com/an-interview-with-aurelia-young/
