Talks take place on Thursday afternoons, starting at 2pm, and usually take place in the Lecture Hall, Rewley House, 1 Wellington Square, Oxford OX1 2JA. These are free for Oxford u3a members but you are welcome to attend as a guest for a donation of £5 (£2 for members of all other U3As).

Most talks are recorded on Zoom for the benefit of those Oxford u3a members who are unable to attend Rewley House.

Lady Aurelia Young – The Life of an MP’s Wife. A Lighthearted Look at the Ups and Downs of Life in Politics

Aurelia Young grew up on Boars Hill in the studio of her father the sculptor, Oscar Nemon. She went to school in Oxford and was married to the dashing baronet, Sir George Young, in Christ Church Cathedral. Aurelia was introduced to life in politics when she was elected on to the Lambeth Council in her early twenties.

George Young was Member of Parliament for over forty years and now sits in the House of Lords. Aurelia will give an illustrated a talk about her life in politics which was sometimes challenging but never dull.
