Talks take place on Thursday afternoons, starting at 2pm, and usually take place in the Lecture Hall, Rewley House, 1 Wellington Square, Oxford OX1 2JA. These are free for Oxford u3a members but you are welcome to attend as a guest for a donation of £5 (£2 for members of all other U3As).

Most talks are recorded on Zoom for the benefit of those Oxford u3a members who are unable to attend Rewley House.

Lady Margaret Bullard – Diplomacy from the Passenger Seat

Margaret Bullard met her husband, Sir Julian Bullard, when they were both in their final year at Oxford, reading PPE. She accompanied him in his diplomatic career in Germany, the Middle East and Russia. Her book, Endangered Species: Diplomacy from the Passenger Seat (2021), on which her talk is based, covers world events from 1954 to 1990 and gives a personal and revealing behind-the-scenes insight into diplomatic life. https://www.spectator.co.uk/article/the-life-of-an-ambassadors-wife
