Talks take place on Thursday afternoons, starting at 2pm, and usually take place in the Lecture Hall, Rewley House, 1 Wellington Square, Oxford OX1 2JA. These are free for Oxford u3a members but you are welcome to attend as a guest for a donation of £5 (£2 for members of all other U3As).
Most talks are recorded on Zoom for the benefit of those Oxford u3a members who are unable to attend Rewley House.

Professor Richard J.B. Bosworth – Giovanni Amendola, ‘the Perfect Anti-Fascist’: His Death and Life

Emeritus Professor Richard Bosworth is one of the world’s leading historians of modern Italy and has written and published extensively. His first book, Italy, the Least of the Great Powers: Italian Foreign Policy Before the First World War was published in 1979 and, what he declares is his very last book, Politics, Murder and Love in an Italian Family: the Amendolas in the Age of Totalitarianisms was published in January 2023. Other publications include a prize-winning biography of Mussolini.
Richard is currently an Emeritus Fellow at Jesus College, Oxford.
