Lizzy Rowe – Who Was Hundertwasser?
6th June 2024 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Lizzy Rowe is an art historian who studied at the Courtauld Institute in London before joining English Heritage as a guidebook editor. She currently lives in Oxford where she teaches Art History in primary schools, as well as giving guided tours and talks.
Her lively talk on the Austrian artist and architect, Friedrich Hundertwasser, will give an overview of a principled life lived to the full and always with a sense of fun and a desire to make the world a more beautiful place. His work is characterised by bright colours and organic forms and his most famous building, the colourful Hundertwasserhaus in Vienna, epitomizes his belief in the godlessness of the straight line and has typically uneven floors and spontaneously sprouting vegetation.
