Talks take place on Thursday afternoons, starting at 2pm, and usually take place in the Lecture Hall, Rewley House, 1 Wellington Square, Oxford OX1 2JA. These are free for Oxford u3a members but you are welcome to attend as a guest for a donation of £5 (£2 for members of all other U3As).

Most talks are recorded on Zoom for the benefit of those Oxford u3a members who are unable to attend Rewley House.

Professor Bob Moon – Why and How England’s Schooling System Needs to Change

Bob Moon began his career as a secondary teacher and was later Headteacher of two large urban secondary schools, one of which was The Peers School, now the Oxford Academy. In 1988, he was appointed Professor of Education at The Open University with a responsibility for developing national and international programmes in teaching and teacher education. In 2018 he was awarded a CBE in recognition of his work on education in developing countries.

Many thanks to Bob for stepping in to give this talk which was to have been given by Sir Tim Brighouse. Sir Tim very sadly died in on 15th December 2023.
