Talks take place on Thursday afternoons, starting at 2pm, and usually take place in the Lecture Hall, Rewley House, 1 Wellington Square, Oxford OX1 2JA. These are free for Oxford u3a members but you are welcome to attend as a guest for a donation of £5 (£2 for members of all other U3As).
Most talks are recorded on Zoom for the benefit of those Oxford u3a members who are unable to attend Rewley House.

Professor Vlad Mykhenko – The War in Ukraine: Causes and Consequences

Dr Vlad Mykhnenko was born and raised in the city of Donetsk in eastern Ukraine. He gained his undergraduate qualifications in Ukraine and Hungary, before moving to Darwin College, Cambridge for his doctorate. He has taught in several universities in the UK and has published widely. He is currently associate Professor of Sustainable Urban Development and Research Fellow at St Peter’s College, Oxford. One of his most recent papers, published in Europe-Asia Studies, deals with the subject of his talk today and has swiftly become the second most read article in the history of this academic journal.
